The U.S. Army operates under all climatic and terrain conditions, requiring extensive development and testing for automotive and other equipment. The U. S. Army Yuma Proving Ground manages the Army's Extreme Natural Environment Test mission and is home to the Developmental Test Command Natural Environment Test Office. The Yuma Test Center, located at Yuma, Arizona, is both a natural desert test environment duplicationg concitions found in many of the world's deserts and a large, multi-purpose test and training facility. The Tropic Regions Terst Center, headquartered at YPG, hosts testing in a variety of locations including the Republic of Panama and Hawaii. The Cold Resions Test Center's primary test facility located at Bolio Lake, Alaska, is home to both off-road cold and temperate vehicle testing and a newly built high-speed cold weather automotive test track. Safari teams and equipment from Yuma Test Center travel regularly to TRTC and CRTC to ensure full support of automotive and material testing and produce standard, high quality test data.
