Assessment test for outplacement: why and how?

When facing outplacement, it's important to know exactly what you are dealing with. The only reliable way to do that is through an outplacement assessment test. This gives you a picture of what an employee is like and what drives them. And thus whether someone is adequate for a specific role you may have in mind and what suitable alternatives may be.

Why would an employer offer outplacement with an assessment test?

As an employer, for example, you can offer outplacement to employees as part of a layoff process. But you can also offer it before that happens. For companies, it helps to maintain a good relationship with (former) employees and to make the process go well for both parties. You know that someone will end up well.

How does an assessment test work?

  • You order a test on the order page. You can do this with your account (recommended if you take tests more often) or once, without an account.
  • The staff member takes the test. The Bridge Career takes only about 35 minutes.
  • Immediately after answering the last question, a report is generated automatically. As soon as it is ready, you will be sent this report. Often this is just a matter of minutes.
  • With the report you can immediately see what are important character traits and what energises someone (personality test) and what are suitable professions for an employee (career test). All this is based on the completed answers.
  • With the report, you can draw up a plan for the rest of the employee's career. For example, you can see whether you can offer a suitable position within the company or whether outplacement would be a better idea.
  • Handy: you can also have employees who do not speak Dutch fill out the test. It is also available in English.

What do I get with an assessment test for outplacement?

With an assessment test or competency test for outplacement, you get a comprehensive report within minutes. In that report, you see exactly what the characteristics and skills of an employee are. And what the employee likes to do and what gives him energy.

In addition, there are eight so-called career anchors that tell you a lot about what an employee finds important in a job and/or education. There are more than 200 college/university jobs and studies, and you can see which ones are the best fit for someone.
